This site is operated by Juho Joensuu, a business consultant registered in Finland. This policy is written in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data is collected and why

When you submit a form

This site uses Tally for contact and inquiry forms. When you submit a form, the following data is collected:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Any information you choose to include in the message field

This data is collected for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, the mutual interest in communicating about a potential working relationship.

Form submissions are stored in Tally and may be transferred to a Google Sheet for tracking purposes. No form data is shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

When you subscribe to email updates

If you provide your email address to receive updates or resources, your email is stored and used to send you the content you requested and occasional updates about new essays or the forthcoming book.

The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing using the link in any email.

Email is currently sent via [Mailchimp / add your email service provider when confirmed]. Your email address is stored by that service provider in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Website analytics

Server logs

Netlify, which hosts this site, may collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser types, and pages visited. This data is retained by Netlify in accordance with their privacy policy. It is not used by this site for tracking or profiling purposes.

How long data is retained

Inquiry and contact form data is retained for as long as it is relevant to an active or potential business relationship, and deleted when no longer needed — typically within two years of last contact if no engagement has begun.

Email subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to restrict or object to processing
• The right to data portability
